ABOUT US

MARK WILLIAM ANTHONY DOLAN     B.A., C.E.L.T.A.

I was born in Cardiff, Wales, U.K. and grew up in Manchester and London. Since leaving home I have lived in France, Germany, the U.S. and The Czech Republic.

My background is in languages and music: as a classical singer I needed a good basic understanding of German, Italian and French.

I studied music at the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris and joined a small Paris-based operatic company, travelling and performing throughout Europe. I also studied French at La Sorbonne for two years.

My teaching career started in 2002, after I qualified as a CELTA teacher, working mostly in France, the U.K. and The Czech Republic.

My interests are music (performing), reading, cooking (I ran a small restaurant in Paris for four years), walking and tennis.

In 2007 and 2010 I walked the Camino de Sanitiago which I consider to be one of my greatest achievements.

I live in Prague with my Czech wife and three children.

PETRA DOLAN, Mgr.

I was born in Prague and when I was two my family moved to South America where we lived for seven years. It was there where I fell in love with the Spanish language and the culture of the Spanish speaking countries.

I work as a teacher, translator and travel guide in English, Spanish and Portugese. I have a university degree from the Palacký University in Olomouc (2006), a Cambridge Certificate (FCE) (2009), and an ESOL certificate (2010). I have lived in the UK, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Peru.

I started teaching languages after my university studies. I have worked as a city guide in Prague and Central Europe, and as a translator of films, documentaries and animated films for dubbing for television.

In addition to languages my other passions in life are sewing, bead-making, yoga, coffee and chats with friends, and of course my English husband Mark and three children.
